I build Mechatronic systems that move with purpose and intelligence that predicts failure before it happens.
I'm Rittu Ronald - a Mechatronics & Automation Engineering student at VIT Chennai, building systems that move with purpose and predict failure before it happens.
From the propulsion labs of ISRO to the factory floors of Ashok Leyland and Rane Madras, to the research halls of IIT Madras - I've worked across robotics, industrial automation, and predictive maintenance, contributed to Mars rover development, and filed a patent. All before finishing my degree.
I don't just study engineering. I ship it.

My Academic & Professional Journey
Predictive maintenance looks like a maintenance problem until you realize it's really a data problem. Ashok Leyland taught me how to turn machine signals into decisions before failures become downtime.
Industry 4.0 Predictive Maintenance & Quality Inspection
Worked at Ashok Leyland's Cab Panel Press Shop (CPPS), where I developed Industry 4.0-based solutions focused on predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and automated quality inspection. Designed frameworks for monitoring servo motors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, cooling circuits, and automotive body panel quality using sensor analytics, machine vision, and data-driven maintenance strategies to support Zero Downtime and Zero Defect Manufacturing initiatives.
Inductive Wireless Power Transfer Lab
Worked at one of India's most respected research institutions on a problem that sits at the cutting edge of EV technology - designing and simulating wireless power transfer coils for electric vehicle charging, where the goal is to move energy without a single wire touching.
Coil design looks like a geometry problem until the electromagnetic fields start leaking. Then it becomes a safety problem. IIT Madras taught me to see both at once.
Most projects start with a blank page. Rane started with a broken machine, missing documentation, and a deadline. That gap between theory and shop floor is where the real engineering lives.
FEA Stress Rig & Deflection Contours
Worked with Rane Madras Limited on a precision manufacturing problem - diagnosing and upgrading an automated steering rack bend correction machine that had drifted out of reliable operation, while simultaneously designing what a smarter, next-generation version of it could look like.
Liquid Propulsion Vikas Engine Assembly Details
Trained at the engine room of Indian spaceflight - where rocket propulsion systems are assembled, tested and cleared before powering India's launch vehicles into orbit.
Industrial mechatronics teaches you how machines work. ISRO taught me what happens when they can't afford to fail.
ROS2 Implementations & Legged Mobile Robotics
Leading the programming division of VIT Chennai's humanoid robotics club - writing code, organizing events, and making sure the next generation of roboticists at VIT actually know what they're doing.
Space Exploration Rover & Mars Drone Systems
Part of VIT Chennai's elite space technology team - building rovers, combat bots, and competing on stages that go from Delhi to NASA. MOVIS doesn't just participate in competitions. It shows up, takes hits, repairs at midnight, and comes back stronger.
